Crum Creek at SEPTA Paper Mill Rd

Crum creek

Location Overview

I put in my NRS Outlaw 1 inflatable kayak down the hill from the SEPTA 101 trolley stop at Paper Mill road and paddled a short distance to the Baltimore Ave bridge, for a take out to avoid a very dangerous dam (see photos in discussion section).
The water was high after rain and there were no instances where I had to drag the boat through shallow riffles.
Quite a bit of swift fun Class 1 rapids, and another dangerous dam right before Yale Ave in Swarthmore.
There was one small tree across river parallel to surface that was difficult to pass.
This is a great trip after rain and you can take out at Bullens lane to catch the SEPTA 113 bus home.
