Cross Bayou Canal Kayak Launch

Pinellas Park, US

Description

I paddled the bayou yesterday, May 14,2020. Before I got there, I purchased cleaning gloves and a long-handled grabber (from the kitchen dept.) and used it to pick up some of the trash in the canal. I used pieces of paracord to tie things to the kayak for the job. Brought a big mesh laundry bag to put the trash it, as well as the front compartment of the kayak.

I did enjoy the trip and paddled for hours. Beautiful mangroves scattered for miles. There's a picnic bench where many roots are exposed, but one thick root is partly exposed enough to use a rope through. Not an easy place to climb- I wouldn't recommend that at all. But eventually I had to turn back.
