Clam Bayou Nature Preserve

Clam Bayou, Boca Ciega Bay

Description

4099 34th Ave. S Nice new dedicated paddle launching ramp at the east end of 34th Ave. S off 37th St. S. Access to Clam Bayou with lots of birds in the twisty bayou and interesting mangroves. Clam Bayou Nature Park in Gulfport is across the bayou. It has an unimproved launching area. Paddling.com map does not show most of the mangrove islands. Use satellite view. Also access to Skyway/ Bayway channel with National Wildlife Refuge Islands. About 5 mile paddle to the Gulf at Pass a Grille or Blind Pass. Launch area is also a nice park that is a junction for bike and walking paths. Also seems to be a youth hangout.

3/25/2021 - There’s a sign there that says no launching.
