Bugsworth Basin

Peak Forest Canal

Description

This exact spot has a ‘secluded’ space to pump your boards up on a nice piece of grass that can provide a bit of shade, which on a sunny day was nice. There is also a small bridge to shelter under should you need to do so. There is parking on the road adjacent/above the launch spot. Nice and easy to pop your paddleboard/kayak into the canal. As it is a basin, narrow boats are allowed to stay for two days, there are bins, toilets etc but I am unsure if the facilities were locked or not. There was also a cafe boat moored close by when I was there, I think that it is usually in or around that area a lot. A lovely canal steeped in history.
