Description
This is our go-to for a close-to-our-home (Chevy Chase, Md) paddle. (35 min). The Lake is a reservoir. No gas-powered boat. The lake is large, with several fingers so you can paddle for several hours. The shore is mostly undeveloped, so it is an easy, peaceful location. There are kayak, canoe and peddle boat rentals. Two puts-in, one at the boat launch and one at the kayak rental location at the beach area.
Even when it is crowded, you can escape into one of the fingers and find few paddlers.
This is one of our favorite places to paddle.
