Put-in into flat water on public property at the base of the bridge, right across from the foundation that used to be Battenkill Canoe. There's a spot for two cars to park immediately on the other side of the road.
Muddy and slick, water can move fast in the spring, and the mud can be deep. Good spot to paddle up and drift down, or ferry from, anywhere down into NYS. The big resurgence at the Inn is just downstream; and watch for where the Roaring Branch enters below that. Lots of wildlife upstream and not much traffic. Put in is also used for fishing. There's another spot about 100 feet downstream.
