Large area for free parking. Not crowded, but there will typically be several fishermen launching from this point. (Nice, wide concrete boat ramp.) Wide bayou with calm water and lots of tall grass and trees on both sides. There is very little trash in the bayou and no downed trees or debris blocking the way. Going to the right from the launch, you will quickly go under a bridge on the road leading to the launch, but then paddle a mile or so before getting into some residential areas. Going to the left, you will pass a couple of houses and then there is nothing but wilderness. However, there will be more boat traffic from fishermen using this as an access route to the Amite River and Lake Maurepas.
