I have used my Akiak on six outings. Mine is a shouldered 220. I hated it for about The first twenty minutes and I had tracking issues for the first hour or so, (I kept drifting to starboard, my sloppy form was to blame). After the first hour it started to feel like second nature and I began to enjoy the paddle. I haven’t used my carbon Camano since I got this paddle. I am sure that I will use the Camano, but for now I am having too much fun exploring the limits of the Akiak. The fit and finish are perfect and the shaft is comfortable. Then blade is clean, efficient and quiet. I am very happy with my purchase and I think that this will be my primary paddle for a long time to come.
