I bought this paddle both for the history (and nostalgia) as well as paddling with a blade that claimed to be easier on the shoulders. I'm very pleased with the purchase and this is now my go-to paddle (I also own a wing paddle). I have a SOT that I paddle in mostly protected bay waters in Miami, FL. However when venturing out into more open water, this paddle handles just fine.
