This is a great kayak for a beginning paddler. It is lightweight enough to carry and lift onto the car by myself. It is very stable in the water and easy to maneuver. It's a good kayak for older kids too. It's at a good price point for beginners, and retains it's value well for resale when it's time to upgrade. I'm very happy with my Pelican Pursuit 80x!
