Great add-on for any kayaker!

I got the Adventure Canopy bimini for my WildernessSystems Tarpon 12. Shipping was quick, and the install was painless. I used the slide track nuts on the back and drilled the front following simple instructions. It comes with different poles for height adjustment, which I did use.

I live on a lake in Louisiana, and the summer sun is downright brutal. I did plenty of research on bimini tops and chose this one because the design looked so much more stable than others.

I was still a little worried about how the canopy would do in the wind out on open water. The first day I took it out was windy and choppy. The poles have just enough flex to let the canopy sway a little in the wind without moving the boat. I didn't feel like it affected my paddling at all. If it did, I was too busy enjoying the shade on my shoulders to notice. It really makes a huge difference and is noticeably cooler. Less sun equals more energy and more enjoyable longer paddles.

I really got a chance to test it on a 28 mi camping trip down the Sabine River between LA and TX. It breaks down and sets up easily for travel. At the end of the trip, I had 15 jealous, sunburned friends.

This is a must for anyone who spends lots of time in their yak. Well worth it. Go ahead and get one. You'll thank yourself later.

On top of the great product, Adventure Canopies has amazing customer service. The owner, Matt, has reached out personally to follow up and is clearly dedicated to his product and your satisfaction.

I'll be paddling happily in my own shade for years to come.
