I am very satisfied with the Sound. See my earlier review. The only reason I did not award it five stars is that it arrived with some minor shipping damage (large "oilcan" dent in bottom of hull and a few scrapes and abrasions.
This is my first kayak, I've had it for about two years now. I am 71 and in average physical condition so I wanted a kayak that was very stable, light enough to load in my Jeep Grand Cherokee or on a car top, and roomy enough to fish from or do an overnight float/camping trip. After doing a bit of research I chose the Sound 10.5 based on the above features and price. Overall this kayak is very stable, the first thing I did when I first got it was attempt to tip it over. Like others, I had to hang my legs over the side and lean way over to get it to tip. The kayak tracks pretty well and is easy to maneuver. The seat is fairly comfortable, but I did add a pad for longer trips. The adjustable foot pegs add to the comfort level while paddling. I use my kayak to fish from and have added an anchor trolley system, a folding anchor, an extra rod holder, and a customized milk crate with attached warning flag. I would suggest getting a cockpit cover to keep debris and critters out of your boat when it is stored.
