These kayaks are a great design but break too easily in the UL or Ultralite models. This has happened to me and at least two other members of a kayak group in Australia and other members have reported this as a known problem. Recently bought a Lightning UL 12 new in 2022. The ABS is too thin as they use less as they are 5-6 kg less in weight than equivalent ABS kayaks. Failure points are around the coaming and where the foot peg rail attaches to the hull. Slight impacts on top of the hull easily causing cracks. Pity, as design and feel in water and light weight is great. Can't recommend. Hopefully they address the problem. Note that they are marked as being Made in China.

BE CAREFUL STRAPPING ON TO ROOF Rack These are great but remember that the light weight comes at a price. Especially DO NOT put the straps across the black cockpit oval. This can push down and split the ABS behind the cockpit. Easy to repair with fibreglass tape and 2 part expoxy or 2 part acrylic glue. But be careful. And at all times don't tighten straps too much.
