I am a raw beginner to kayaks. I was a bit apprehensive to put into the water but after my knees quit knocking I realized this kayak was perfect for a newbee. I had to laugh because I found it was soo stable and easy to paddle. I managed to keep up with a bunch of folks and since I am 75 years old that was a good feeling. This is a great boat for flat water fishing. It is stable and easy to paddle. It is not a sports car on turning and running a course required back paddle and sweep strokes to get it to turn. It is comfortable and would rate it higher if it were more maneuverable.
