I bought my stealth 10 angler last fall for duck hunting and now use it more for fishing. I caught my first steelhead ever (10 lb er) and it dragged me around the river for about 10 minutes before I was able to land it. The reason I bought this one was the specs, price and great reviews. This is my first kayak and stability was my main concern. The kayak is incredibly stable and I now find myself swinging my legs over the side to change tackle constantly without any concern. At times I wish it was a little wider, like my buddies Predator 13, but I always come back to sticking with the stealth because it’s much lighter and maneuvers through the water much smoother and faster than his. I flipped for the first time, totally my fault, in waste deep water and had no problem getting back into the kayak with a little help from my wife. However, even if she wasn’t there getting back in would be easy. My next attempt will be in water over my head to see how easy getting back in can be in deeper water. My only complaint, which really isn’t a complaint, is the forward rod holder is too far forward. That being said, I am only 5’6” so I added a Scotty Extension and it works awesomely. My next addition is going to be a Scotty Transducer arm so I can add a depth finder. I think setting up the kayak is just as fun as kayaking at times. The hull is extremely tough and seems far more durable than my wife’s Field and Stream Eagle Talon, which seems to be a great kayak too. All in all, for me this kayak is a 10. It’s easy to man handle and load by myself and is a great kayak for beginner and more. Hope this helps you make a decision on buying a kayak.
