I have owned three fishing kayaks. A Hobie Quest, a Malibu Pro Explorer and now the Trident 11. The T11 is a nimble fast boat. The tracking is not great. I just bought a rudder that will hopefully resolve that issue. It's a relatively quiet ride but can get wet. Storage is better than average but not as good as the other two yaks I've used. I like the rod pod plus system. it's nice to have a lot of options for placement of accessories without drilling holes.

Over all I recommend it apart from the poor tracking but again I think a rudder might solve that.

I have owned three fishing kayaks. An Ocean Kayak Trident 11, A Hobie Quest and my Malibu Pro Explorer. I love the Pro Explorer. It feels like the most solid well constructed kayak I've owned. Tracking is great. It's a little sluggish in speed but not enough to change my mind. The storage on this beast is one of the best. Had Malibu not discontinued it I would recommend it more. If you find one used, buy it. Great yak.

My first yak was a Hobie Quest and I don't think I appreciated how awesome it was until I paddled a lot more kayaks. I have purchased two more kayaks since then. A Malibu Pro Explorer and an Ocean Kayak T-11. The Quest is the best of the bunch. It is fast, stable and very well designed and constructed. I'm a short guy and started to wish it was about two feet shorter. Wouldn't you know it Hobie came out with the Quest 11 a few years after I bought mine. Storage is fantastic. I've taken it on over night river/ camping trips many times. About the only negative is the tracking. It definitely needs a rudder. I installed one and it's now the best in the fleet. Can't recommend enough.
