I love this kayak! I've had my Sea Eagle 393rl Razorlite for a couple of years now, and I can honestly say it's the best inflatable kayak I've ever paddled, especially in terms of speed. We have 6 inflatable kayaks, but I was looking for something narrower and faster, speed-wise and also one that had minimal pump-up time. This nice kayak fills the bill! I haven't found a faster inflatable out there. And you cannot beat the portability of it; it fits in my trunk much more compactly than any of the other inflatable kayaks we own. If you're an fairly experienced paddler and are looking for a high quality inflatable kayak to upgrade to, this one is definitely worth the money.

This review is for the 2013 Sea Eagle 385 fast track. Wanting a higher performance inflatable kayak, my husband and I each bought one of these. Even though they are supposed to be the same model year, the kayaks have slight manufacturing differences, and the one tracks better than the other. Bummer! Sea Eagle keeps changing the 385, and I don't know why.

Those disappointments aside, the 2013 fast track does track amazingly straight, and fast. We have no problem paddling upstream in current when we want to. When we decide to go tandem, we both fit in one reasonably well, but not much room to spare; I agree with the other reviewer - if both of you are over 5'9" I'd get the longer one, if you don't want to feel cramped. Especially if you want to put a motor on it - the motor mount is good, but takes up that much more space.

Regarding the removable skeg, it definitely needs it - we forgot it once and found out that the kayak tracks VERY poorly without it. But overall the 385 fast track is a good kayak, made of very durable material, and you can't beat the portability of an inflatable.

We own three Rios, and really like them. They are fun boats. My nieces and nephews love to play "bumper boats" in them. There's no skeg, so they're very maneuverable, and you can float in 3" of water without touching bottom. I like the material that covers the top, sides, and floor of the boat; it's very durable and sturdy. On the back of the seat there are holders for bottled water and snacks, and there is a convenient mesh holder in the area behind the seat for misc. stuff.

It's not the fastest boat out there, but that's ok. It's very stable, and is great for novice paddlers; they feel very safe in it out on the water. It does fishtail a bit when you paddle, but it gets you where you want to go.

This is a good choice if you want a decent inflatable canoe for a reasonable price and weight, good portability, and if you just want to get out on the water and have fun.
