If you're looking for a surf YAK or an incredibly stable SOT the Hobie Pursuit is not the YAK for you! However after getting used to the Pursuit stability isn't much of an issue. It's insanely fast for a SOT YAK that's only 12'2" long, it paddles more like a touring YAK although doesn't track anywhere as good as a touring YAK. The factory seat is quite comfortable along with the footrests. It's nice having a drink holder and deep pocket 6" hatch within reach. It shows that Hobie put a lot of thought into the ergonomics. The weight limit isn't that great at 215lbs., but the storage is nicely laid out. The rear cargo well is a good size and has a 5" hatch inside of it which you can store fishing rods or even store your paddles in. For a 12'2" YAK it's easy to load and move around since it's only 40lbs. All in all I love the Pursuit for what it is - Fast, Sleek and Responsive.

This is a great stable SOT YAK especially for the price. It's incredibly stable, it surfs well, paddles well (although not fast) and can hold quite a bit of cargo. For an all around SOT for under $400- this takes the cake. It is very comfortable with an added seat and well laid out. From the tank well/storage in the rear to the cargo in the front both with bungees and a Max weight of up to 325 this YAK can carry it all. The scupper holes work great when in rough water or surfing, but get plugs for lake/calm paddling otherwise you get wet for no reason. The only reason I gave it a 9 was because it didn't come with a drink holder or side carry straps.
