A friend and I each bought one at Costco last (2013) summer, found it to be a very good beginning kayak. No carrier, but paddle included. We are in SW Washington. Took it on lakes, a nearby river (Washougal), and even crossed the Columbia River from Washington state to Oregon (Autumn, water warm and shallow, current as slow as it will ever get, warm day, easy dry-off if necessary - not reckless). I wouldn't do that during the high fast water seasons.
We've both had the same problem with seats pulling loose and front mini hatch coming loose. Doesn't exactly slice through the water, but does ok. Good value for the dollar, but I wouldn't push it too hard.
