I have bought a barely used Torque (2013 model) early this spring and I am very happy I did. This model is now discontinued and will probably be replaced or has been replaced with the Predator XL from Old Town. The Torque has lived up to my expectations in terms of fishability and paddling pleasure. I have bought a Group 24 AGM battery and I barely need to think about running out of power.

The Minn Kota Motor is quiet and has just enough power (36lbs) for the kayak. Paddling with the motor is not optimal because you have the extra weight of the battery and some drag from the propeller (+ motor weight). That said, it does paddle with the motor if you need to, but if you are going for a quick trip to the lake, etc to have fun, just put the skeg in. You'll be surprised by the tracking and speed you can reach. At 29 inches wide it is not considered a wide kayak, but standing is possible, while moving slowly with the motor, and fishing...after a couple of tries.

Bottom Line I love this kayak, even is it is a little heavy to put on and off the roof of my car, but it is a small price to pay
