Light! I'm a strong woman, but no amount of training is going to enable me to lift a standard canoe above my head. My Nova Craft Prospector is made of Aramid, a Kevlar composite. I can lift it, put it on to my shoulders and portage it wearing a backpack if necessary. It looks good, draws envious comments, and moves well in the water - lake and ocean. A week on Murtle Lake in Wells Gray was a joy. The only drawback to this beautiful canoe being its delicate nature. This is a canoe to baby, not to scrape on beaches or load up on a cart. I have a few battle scars on the hull now, otherwise I love this canoe.
