I am/was a beginner kayaker who flipped one on my 2nd try (not this kayak) and lost my gear. It was a traditional 9ft sit in and I thought I was through with them. That was until I came across this one at Cabela's.

I am 6'4" and 265 pounds and was looking for one with stability. This kayak fit the bill perfectly. It may not be the fastest kayak around but it is more stable than my canoe. The high backed seats make it comfortable enough for a 4-6 hour trip. There is plenty of storage space for tackle and 4 handles for ease of carrying. I also love the wheel on the back when having to drag it along the ground.
I highly recommend this kayak!
