It has a roll down closure to provide IPX7 waterproof rating. The shoulder straps allow you to wear the pack comfortably. There are multiple D-rings if you want to attach items to the bag or they can be used to attach the bag to an object if necessary.
The bag float on water (yes, I tested it) and as expected all of the contents remained dry. It is very easy to clean dirt, sand, and debris from the bag. A quick rinse is all it takes. I do recommend completely drying the bag before storing it between uses. This is a very nice dry bag backpack.
