The Hobie passport 10.5 is a wonderfully engineered kayak. I love how light it is (65 lbs). It
is easy enough to lift it off my bench, walk it past my wife’s car through our 1-car garage and onto the soft racks of my Ford Explorer. Nice heavy duty handles. Very comfortable seat with great cockpit layout. My primary interest is in using the 10.5 to troll Lake Michigan for trout and salmon on calmer days. I’ve since added a Hobie cart, a small fish finder (strapping the battery in the hull scupper posts under the seat, added rechargeable navigation lights, and two additional rod holders (placed just behind the seat). All said, it’s works great! Have no problem setting up three rods. Have had it 1.5 years, not sure I would ever want a different kayak. The only drawback is the hull scratches really easy. Be especially careful to avoid any contact to concrete or rocks.
