One Awesome Fishing Kayak!

Submitted by: guest-paddler on 7/3/2018

Ok so here is the scoop. This is my second eddy-gear kayak, and I must say it is the most feature rich yak for its price point money can buy. I love the thing and with a huge weight capacity. I don't care if you are santa clause you will have room to pack everything i still float. And if you are a owner please check out the owners page in Facebook or if you know someone who wants a great yak that won't break the bank tell them to check eddy-gear out. Thanks eddy-gear for a great product.

Great boat for small waters and creeks. Looked at XL also and asked numerous questions and Eddy-Gear has great customer service. First responder discount was great too.

I am impressed with the weight, or lack of it.

Submitted by: guest-paddler on 8/20/2016

I purchased this boat from a local retailer, off Craigslist. Mine came with a steering rudder system, which to me, makes this boat even that much better. I am impressed with the weight, or lack of it. It tracks well, but with the rudder, using the included foot pegs, I can paddle left side, then right side in a steady rhythm and trim my direction with my feet. Makes for an even upper-body workout and even though you're only traveling between 5-8 miles per hour, seems like you're doing much faster.

I have owned my Trevally Fishing Kayak for a few months now and all I can say is WOW!!

Submitted by: guest-paddler on 8/4/2016

This is my second Eddy Gear I have owned. My Trevally Fishing Kayak for a few months now and all I can say is wow!!! I love this kayak! It's extremely stable from standing to battling wind and rain! The tracking is as straight as an arrow with the rudder to assist in drifting! And I also get a lot of good looks from everyone on tourney day!

I look forward to fishing from this kayak more frequently in the near future.

First time hearing about this brand was just a couple weeks ago from a close friend and avid fisherman.
I got the opportunity to demo his yesterday and I must say, it has really impressed me as far as stability, tracking and paddling.
The river I was on usually had a 7-9 mph flow, drifting down the steering rudder kept me straight with minor adjustments and made it extremely easy to fish standing up.
I mostly Bass fish so I have to have a good point of view and casting room to Flip, pitch and roll cast under low lays and docks. The stability was easily comparable to most high dollar brand kayaks on the market. I mostly standup and paddle while Bass fishing so the ability to stand for long periods of time is critical to my fishing abilities.
Now for the paddle back up river.. EASY with the current at the normal speeds and a north wind blowing in my face, I was easily able to make my way back to the launch point with ease. I am excited to see how the Trevally will do on an early morning with no wind on a local lake I fish.
To complete this review, this will be the next kayak I own and I look forward to fishing from this boat more frequently in the near future.
