Side Canyon Whitewater Paddle Description

The Sawyer Side Canyon is a light-duty all around whitewater paddle for rafting and canoeing. Oval Western Red Cedar shaft has incredible flex and feel while the large, straight blade has great power and bite. The blade is reinforced with fiberglass and a bit of carbon fiber for extra strength. Full perimeter Dynel Tough Edge and Pro Tip, rounds out all these incredible features for a lighter, flexible wood paddle.

Love, love, LOVE the Side…

Love, love, LOVE the Side Canyon! I've paddled it in the Southeast for a couple of seasons and it has saved my bacon several times. Very responsive: flex is surprising and responsive. I paddled the Werner Bandit before (another good paddle), but the Sawyer is more alive, if that makes sense. With shallower rivers, I expected much more wear on the paddle than I've seen. It takes a beating and keeps on going.
