i’m a bit on the heavy side for the boogie 50 (190lbs), but still once i adjusted the seat to center for my weight, this boat is amazing! it carved so well without the fins, i took them off (you can’t flat spin with fins) it’s a fast boat with great holding ability, you can charge through the breakers and one day i hope to learn some areal tricks!

Waited 7 months for delivery of this kayak from the date of order supposedly due to Covid and it finally arrived today. Ordered Neptune Blue but a red one arrived with no fins. Accepted the colour and improvised by attaching some surfboard fins. I am 91kgs in body weight and the recommended maximum weight for the Boogie 50 is publicised as 91kgs. Tried to take it for a paddle today but it sinks well below the water line and I am simply unable to paddle it. I would say the maximum weight for this kayak or the particular one I purchased and received is more like 80kgs. Bitterly disappointed and angry as it is useless to me and is a complete waste of my time and money. No recommendation here at all😡

I think this is a great beginner surf boat. It has very user friendly rails, and is quite fast on the takeoff. I liked how it held it's line. I think the outfitting was a bit weird. But I also liked the grab loops and the drain plugs.

I bought this Boogie as a ocean surf kayak in Mass. The problem that I have with it is that it lacks floatation in the aft so I do reverse enders heading out into the surf. Maybe there is a technique that I am missing but seems better suited to rivers.
