Picked up the Otter at Costco two years ago. The paddle board is stable for beginners yet narrow enough to get some good speed. I use it mostly on a large lake when wind and boat traffic can be challenging. Only once have I taken an unexpected swim due to losing my balance. Overall it is well-built and easy to maintain. I added a bungee cord deck rigging to keep beverages, sunblock, etc. in place. Love it!
Pros
Stable yet reasonably fast. Well built.
Cons
The included paddle is fair. Upgrade to a carbon fiber paddle and you'll have no regrets. I wish the deck rigging was included but it was easy to add with a kit that includes all necessary parts and adhesive.
Usage
I use it primarily for exercise and recreation on Colorado lakes.

This board was my first I've ever used so don't have much to compare to. However I found it easy to balance on and didn't fall in except when hubby tipped me on purpose. It has a lot of space for extra stuff and was stable on the lake. It got pretty windy and I didn't feel tipsy at all. The downside is it's pretty heavy and takes a while to turn. But it's a great workout and I enjoyed it immensely.
Pros
Very stable, easy to use.
Cons
Heavy

We purchased the Otter last year and have used it dozens of times, we love it. I am over 200 lbs and it floats me fine. Comes with the paddle and fin/leash, we never use the bag.
Pros
very sturdy, good foot padding
Cons
it's on the heavy side
Usage
touring/exercise

Great beginner board for stability and price.
Pros
I really like the stability of the board. Many people of all sizes have tried my Otter and all have found it easy to paddle and very stable. The cost was low for SUP boards in general so I don't feel I need to be as careful about dings and scrapes.
Cons
It is a bit heavy for a long carry or to lift on top of my SUV, but I expected that somewhat with a longer board.
Usage
I use on fresh water lake and river, and in salt water, in predominately flat water. Though does well in short chop. Have tried some yoga and is very stable for that.
