This is a great board for…

This is a great board for beginner/intermediate riders. Easy to carry, easy to balance on it, and easy to control. It comes with 3 fins and the tools required to install/uninstall them. A leash is also included. The design is beautiful. It is reasonably priced, yet it has the look and feel of a more expensive board. Mine gets used at least 5 times a week during the warm season. It has to put up with a fair amount of abuse (oops!), and so far it's holding up very well (2 seasons). Pros Lightweight, beautiful, durable, stable. Cons Didn't have bungees to strap stuff on for longer trips. Usage Going down rivers, cruising around lakes.

Very good board for beginners like myself. Easy to balance on while still being light enough to carry. I love the bamboo look, but I recommend getting a more sturdy paddle than the one that comes with it. Pros Cons Usage It is a universal board, but the front is rounded so it doesn't handle as well in choppy water.

Great little board for harbors, yoga, and waves. Very wide, so easy to balance on. Good for beginners. Pros Very lightweight, so easy to tote around (I'm a smaller girl). Cons Round nose makes it difficult to cut through chop in open water. Usage Touring, exercise, surf.

SUP had always looked like…

Submitted by: guest-paddler on 7/10/2015
SUP had always looked like fun. I tried it a few weeks ago and was hooked. After looking at several stores and SUP brands, I bought the Jimmy Styks Misstyk. Great price and it came with everything I needed (oar, ankle strap, fins, tools) and was packaged really well. It was a cinch to assemble. Once on the water, I climbed right on, starting on my knees, then got right up. Carrying it to and from my place to the water was a different story. (Well, more so from the water home.) You really need a cart. Bulky, but that's because it's 10' long. Pros Good size, smooth as silk in the water, nice color. Cons A little on the heavy side and carrying it home after a ride (when your arms can be tired) was not easy. The "hand grip" is not that easy to hold onto, especially when the board is wet and your hands and arms are tired. It also doesn't feel "balanced" when you carry it as one side tends to sway. Usage Used it on a calm pond. Haven't tried yoga yet, but it seems a little flimsy to really do many poses.

My first board love that it had everything in a package, paddle, leash and cover. Pros 25 pounds easy for me a small woman to handle I can even put on top of my SUV by myself. Cons Wish it had the carrier straps on front to carry a cooler Usage Ichnectucknee and Santa Fe River in North Florida and Gulf of Mexico just like to paddle which is plenty of exercise
