I have had a Lightning paddle for almost 20 years. It's the best paddle I've ever owned. Light, tough, durable and efficient. It's been used as a crutch, trail maker, filleting board, and tarp holder. It's on its last leg now simply because I've worn it down over the years. Would I get another? A resounding yes!!! Experience the finest in paddling. Buy a Lightning!!!
A wonderful paddle! DIfferent than many touring kayak paddles, this one has no dihedral on the power face: it's flat. Really bites the water and lets you know you've planted the blade. Since the blades are wafer thin, they slice water better than any paddle I've used, bar none!! I've spent many years in freestyle canoeing, and appreciate a blade that slices. This one does. It's shape allows for a quick catch and quite entry. There's very little flutter and cavitation. It's just a joy to use. I can only give it a 9 because nothing's perfect.
