I’ve paddled the Impex Irie in flat water and 2’ seas with 12-15 mph winds. This is a fun ride - stable but lively. The cambered shallow V shaped hull makes the boat feel more playful than a flat bottomed boat. With the rudder down, staying on course at any angle to wind or current takes no effort. I usually prefer longer kayaks, but this one made me rethink that, and the light weight makes light work of car-topping after the day’s paddle. The low coamings make paddling comfortable, if a bit wet without spray skirt when the waves get up. The fancy ratcheting sling on the backrest did not survive a few years’ exposure to saltwater, though it is still useable after snapping.
