Bought this canoe 2nd hand.
Pluses: Rides waves well. Good on the flats. Reasonably fast for its weight (32lb total: canoe, ama, iakos) quick on the turns.
Minuses: Huki build quality is legendary, but not on mine. I had a few spots where the gel coat began to crack. After sanding it down, I found that the layup was dry and not airtight. Paint in spots would just fall off. New cracks are developing around the cockpit again. I am resigned to repairing this boat every year.
Absolutely uncontrollable without the rudder.
