2015 Bark Eliminator 14 x 29.8 333L
I picked up this board since i'm a heavier paddler and was looking for a little more stabilty. I already have a Starboard Open Ocean 14 x 28 but it wanted a board that cut through the water for flatter than open ocean conditions. The board is relatively fast for it's width, has a low rocker and nose shaped to ride quietly as it cut through the water. I way 240 and this board had more than enough volume. My friend has the Competitor and the outline is almost the same. I was surprised how far back the box was leaving little room to push the skeg up closer to stablize the board more...but seems the width took care of that. It's pretty fast but make no mistake the width adds drag and you just can't get away from the physics of that equation. All and all a board i will keep.
Pros
Nose and low rocker to cut through the medium to flat water.
Stable
well built
Cons
at 29 lbs it's a little heavy but that's the trade off for width and durability
box could be longer to allow fin placement further in
Usage
Exercise, tour, will race (hui paddle, kanaka ikaika)
