This kevlar tripping boat is beautiful, but offers so much more. At 16'6" with a 36" beam, it has ample room for a full week's worth of gear. With its ergonomic carrying yoke, at only 39 pounds, it's a breeze to get on and off the car, and the portage won't leave you aching. It is extremely sea-worthy -- with solid secondary stability, fully loaded in two foot seas and 20 kt. winds in Algonquin park, we hunkered down on our knees to fight the wind but never gave our stability a second thought.
While it is unsurpassed as an expedition boat, it is a delight on pleasure trips as well. With a center kneeling thwart for soloing, in calm water you can put it on edge Canadian style and it glides through the water like a hot knife through butter. The sliding forward seat helps achieve ideal trim, although it does like a little ballast in windy conditions, especially for soloing.
I'm heartbroken to part with this boat but I just don't have enough storage space anymore.
