Trip Overview

The Winchester Wasteway, is a narrow passage of excess irrigation water that cuts through the Columbia Wildlife Area http://wdfw.wa.gov/lands/wildlife_areas/columbia_basin/Desert/. The entry point for this trip was on Dotson Rd. After about eight hours the paddlers reached their destination, Potholes Reservoir http://wdfw.wa.gov/fishing/washington/391/. Others have reported great fishing here, however no fish were caught on this day. The kayakers did enjoy hours of beautiful sunshine and wildlife; including birds, turtles and carp.
