White River in Arkansas

Trip Overview

I have a waterfront lot on a stretch of the White River between Mtn. View and Batesville, Arkansas. The river is about 200-300 yards wide and flows at the rate of about 3 miles per hour. It is always cool to cold because of the upstream dams. This makes it ideal habitat for rainbow and brown trout.

About 3 miles upriver from me is Martin Access. I usually just put my kayak in there and float down to my lot, fishing along the way. Motorboats can use the river but there are usually few along this stretch.

I have a 12x16' wooden portable building that I use as a primitive cabin. I am extending an invitation for responsible paddlers and campers to use and enjoy this beautiful spot at no charge. Email me for specifics. The lot is in a pasture of several hundred acres. There are mountains on one side and the river on the other.
