Trip Overview
We paddled from the 701 put into the 41 bridge. The water was low and measured 3.77 at the Tomahawk gauge on the Black River. The water flowed along and we found no shallow places. There were 7 blow downs where we had to gay out and carry our boats around trees. None were long or hard, the banks are low and there was no mud. All in All, this was a very nice section to paddle. We saw lots of bald cypress, the water was clear, and there were very few houses.
Portage Notes
Higher water would not make much difference. You might be able to go over some of these trees but not the ones we could slide under.
