Trip Overview

Beautiful, easy trip down the Quabog River in a Sea Eagle 370. It's a very quiet river (little traffic and few houses). There is a fair amount of wildlife visible. We saw at least 8 blue herons, a bald eagle and numerous turtles.

We did a 6-mile trip downriver from the boatramp in Brookfield (https://goo.gl/maps/aq4zv) to the Route 19 parking area (https://goo.gl/maps/4SuCr).

It took us 3 hours of slow paddling. There is little current so one could easily go upriver. You can also take out about a mile earlier at Long Hill Road in West Brookfield.

Accommodations:

There was a portapotty at the boat ramp

Fees:

No

Directions:

Use Google Map links in the report.

Both locations are just a short way off Route 9 in the Brookfields.
