Overview

Back in 1927 the Kerfoot family came north to explore the newly opening Gunflint Trail area of northern Minnesota's vast wilderness area. They fell in love with the Minnesota Canadian canoe country, bought Gunflint Lodge and Outfitting company, and opened their doors in 1929. The family started with 3 log cabins that their native American neighbors built, a small lodge/supply store, and a handful of canvas covered Old Town canoes.

Fast forward to now – Our outfitting services now include a modern fleet of canoes (Kevlar and Royalex), lightweight tents, comfortable packs, an exclusive line of foods made by Camp Chow, accommodations for pre and post trip nights, a full service dining room, and an expert staff with over 100 years of combined outfitting experience for BWCA canoe trips.
