Trip Overview
First trip on a canoe that my friend and I bought together at a garage sale for our families to share. We tested it together by going from Highbanks Metro Park to Northmoor Park. It was lots of fun and I can't wait to go out on the thing again.
We did have to portage the lowhead dam on the NE corner of Antrim Lake (which isn't marked) and the lowhead at Broadmeadows Blvd just south of Antrim Lake. We also had to push ourselves through some very shallow water a few times (10 or 12).
All the work was worth it to see this leg of the river so close up. It took about 3.5 hours.
