Trip Overview


Goose Island is a county park just south of La Crosse, Wi.

They have a canoe/kayak trail that goes around the island. It took us about four hours. Half of the paddle is in back water and half in the Mississippi.

Very beautiful way to spend a few hours. Take a nice lunch and enjoy the day.

The park rents canoes, but we brought our own kayaks. Also the Kickapoo River is not far.

Accommodations:

Goose Island has RV and tent sites. Electric, showers.

Fees:

There might be an entrance fee of a couple dollars.

Directions:

From La Crosse, WI follow HWY 35 south along the Mississippi. A few miles you will see 14/61 and Goose Island is about 1/2 mile farther on 35.
