Maiden Voyage of my new Oru Kayak

A self-supported trip created by KayakCruiser

Trip Overview

I took my new foldable Oru Kayak out for the first time on Bark Lake, a nice local lake suitable for kayaking/canoeing, fishing, and leisure.

It took a bit assembling it the first time, but I can see going forward it'll only take about 5-7 minutes.

It was sunny in the seventies, with a 12mpg south-western wind as I paddled along the shore and then inward.

On the northeast section of the lake the wind and current where the strongest, but the Oru Kayak performed wonderfully- it was stable, swift, and cut through the water as I paddled.

The kayak is quite seaworthy; feeling just like a standard kayak, only more comfortable. I have the Beach LT Sport model which is 12 feet long. It navigated smoothly, cutting a straight line. Plenty of room to stretch out (this model has a wider opening), and take a break or do some tanning.

I feel one could actually take off the back rest, pop up a tent canopy, and sleep in it!

All in all, a wonderful product giving a great experience!
