Trip Overview
Was searching for an easy (free) place to try out my new yak on a solo paddle. This location was perfect! There are 10-12 parking spaces, and at the nearest one, you can expect to carry the yak about 100 ft before you get to the water. I've included a pic below of how close my black SUV is. I've seen from several others that LL can be a little challenging with so many boaters/motorized watercraft. But I skimmed the shoreline going north and only felt a small amount of boat wake. It was with me on the way out, and I paddled against it, in my 10 ft fishing yak, without problems coming back. I stayed about 50 ft out from shoreline, water was full, saw one bit of 'tree' sticking up from the water, and avoided it without issue. Saw some large birds, and encountered 1 person fishing. But other than that - it was empty. (But it was mid-day, 100-degree weather. Eventually, I want to paddle up through Panther Creek.Portage Notes
