Trip Overview

This was our first trip on anything that was not flat water the river was at 4.6 ft. It was mostly Flat Water except for right at the beginning we hit a jolting Bolder that was just under the water. We quickly woke up but we didn't capsized and that was good. We managed to get hung up on some Boulders just before the Swepsonville Bridge. This was quite exhilarating for our first time we managed to get out of it without any troubles but it felt like we were going to be stuck on those rocks all day. This was a really fun paddle!

Safety Notes

We definitely learned that we need to learn how to read the river better. The Boulders at 4.6 feet water level we're just under the water level and hard to see. I also know now that we definitely need to be kneeling in the canoe when we're running Rapids

Conditions

4.6 ft beautiful sunny but Cool Spring day very glad that we didn't get soaking wet at the first rock
