Indian Lake in Ohio

Trip Overview

My husband and I are somewhat new to canoeing, with about 6 or 7 experiences under our belts. We decided to buy a canoe since it is something we very much enjoy and plan to do during the summers.

We took a day trip to Indian Lake having seen it on this web site (see trip report). Perhaps we did not find the right area of the lake to put in and explore, but our experience was not particularly enjoyable because of all the boat and jet ski traffic. Even the no wake zones were rough and hard to navigate forcing us to turn around and explore a small area. It was on a weekend which I'm sure is a factor also.

Accommodations:

Lots of eating places in the area. A state park area has a restroom and map of the Lake and area.

Fees:

No

Directions:

Midwestern Ohio area, near Lakeview, right off of 33.
