Trip Overview

This was a 7.2 mile trip from Huber Heights into Riverside.Great Miami at Dayton River Gauge was at 24.43ft at time of float.Beginning paddlers would enjoy this laid back section of the Great Miami. No dangerous strainers to speak of, one portage (left) to deal with. Entracht parking was OK, had to carry about 200 ft from River. Saw a few yak fishermen along the way. nice picture area just north of Hope bridge, slight rapids after with a rock drop off (18-24") on the other side.

Portage Notes

Low head south of Needmore Rd.we tried left, on the concrete, is very sloped, and difficult to maintain footing.
