Trip Overview
8.5 miles on a windy day. We had planned to do a perimeter paddle but the 15-20 mph wind from the SSW required some thoughtful adjustments to allow for the distance we did get in . It's a beautiful lake and calling it "pond" is a Maine misnomer of the first order. With limited development on the shoreline and some nice stretches of public land including camping locations (see map and web link below) it's a joy to paddle. Water is crystal clear with many rocky shoals and points. There is additional private land that allows day use of the beaches.
