Trip Overview

Nice trip 8.85 miles on the water 7 hours total. Only 4.5 hours on the move. And we by no means where in a hurry. Saw herrings and an eagle. Mostly muddy banks with stone beaches. One muddy bank had sparrows that dug out nest looked like pueblo indians. Started out from DNR with large group from Area 52, but they got out at Dee-Mac bridge.

Safety Notes

Branch hanging over a wire at one point. Pulling it down near the water. Could not tell if it was power, cable or phone. Just stay away.

Gear Notes

Tobin 2man inflatable kayak, and a 3man inflatable kayak.

Conditions

Beautiful day.

Portage Notes

About 1.5 miles from DNR canoe access a number of down trees in the river we pulled over for the beach. And watched everyone after us get stuck trying to make it through.
