A self-supported trip created by guest-paddler

Trip Overview

A tidewater area in Kittery Point, Maine. You can put in at the town dock behind Capt. Simeon's Rest one hour before high tide. Head toward the cottages along the shore. Paddle up the creek. When you come to an open area, head left to the road by the Rachel Carson Area. You can turn back at this point (30 minutes back).

You can sometimes go under the small bridge or portage your kayak over the narrow road to paddle up the marshes to Brave Boat Harbor. This can be a nice nature trip. But if you are late on the tide do not go into the area. It is a nice hour cruise to the harbor, walk along the shore, paddle back thru the marshes to Chauncey Creek. You should be back at least an hour after high tide.

Accommodations:

Motels in Kittery and Portsmouth..

Fees:

If town dock is full. Parking across the street for $5.

Directions:

RT #103 out of Kittery, about 3 miles to KIttery Pt. and Cap'n Simeon's Rest and town dock.
