My son and I did a three day float down the Willamette River from Harrisburg to Salem Oregon. I had done part of this with my dad 45 years ago in a two man Folbot. My son and I used an Emotion Sturgeon and my Old Town Pack. We camped 2 nights and the weather was superb. We stopped counting Bald Eagles at 100 and probably twice that many Osprey. We took our backpack gear and slept quite nicely. The water is mostly flat, we had the river to ourselves and it feels more remote than it would seem. Camping is easy and legal.
